 BILLE JEAN HALL

On the morning of March 8, 2015, Billie Jean Hall-beloved wife, fiercely partisan mother and loyal and loving sister-embarked on her one-way trip out of this transient and toilsome world in order to return to that infinite, undifferentiated darkness from which her time with us was always and only ever on layaway. Time, that grand master thief, has reclaimed his ransom, and the loss suffered by this funhouse mirror of a world is now Heaven's ill-requited gain. Billie Jean was born the baby of eight on March 6, 1955, to the notoriously fertile Riley Malcom Wyatt and Beulah Magdalene Wyatt. As much as she ever fully grew up at all, Billie did so in this loving household. She adored Beulah. She cooked dinner for Riley. She snuck out of the house to watch Elvis on The Ed Sullivan Show.In 1977, she married a dark-haired, motorcycle-wielding country boy, Don Hall. Billie consistently maintained that it had been her very great pleasure that Fate had annexed her destiny to that of Don. Over the course of 38 years, she and Don co-piloted a watermelon paddle boat, ferrying their freight of mirth and madness from the face of the sun all the way to the depths of the ocean floor and back. She stubbornly referred to her children as "my life's work." Billie belonged to no group save that implied by blood and was beholden to no dogma other than the one which emanated from her own overripe conscience. An avid traveler of alleyways, canals, and Spirit, she found great enjoyment in being unreasonably kind, advancing defeated positions, getting her toenails clipped, and having a big ol' laugh at the expense of the exaggerated sense of importance which so many attach to the overrated struggle of existence. She detested wealth. She was a fine girl and she shall be greatly missed. Memorial services to be held Saturday, April 11 at Dripping Springs Baptist Church, 2686 Junior Camp Rd., Monterey, TN 38574.
